Generating License Keys From the

EnterpriseLink Information Site

Certain EnterpriseLink partners, Micro Focus Support personnel, and System Engineers may generate license keys for EnterpriseLink.  If you are allowed to generate license keys for the EnterpriseLink product, there will be a green background licensing section and the Licensing hyperlink in the main section of this page.  Clicking on either one will go directly to the license generation page.

Alternatively, you can review the licensing policies by clicking on the Licensing link on the left-hand margin of the page (while in the Partnering section).  This is technically not part of the licensing area and is open to all Partners, whether or not they have been granted the right to generate licenses.  When clicking on this left-hand side link the following page is produced:

After reviewing the page click on the “Product Licensing Home Page” near the bottom:

From this page you can either list customers and their licenses (the “List Customers” hyperlink) or start generating a new license (“Start License Generation”).  If you click on “Start Licensing” this is what you will see:

Enter a nick name or a full company name that has been added to the licensing database and click the “Search” button.  If the search comes back empty then you can alternatively “List” all customers in the database.  If this is a new customer fill out the form completely and click the “Add” button at the bottom of the page (not shown on this screen capture).

If you search reveals a customer or your partnership name (for testing licenses only), that page will now look like:

Once a valid customer has been retrieved from the licensing database the “Continue” button will appear.  Click it to move onto the next section of Licensing.  Fill out this page completely.  This is a long page, so we show it here in sections:

Note that the “CD-ROM Product Key” may alternatively be called a “Serial #” on the EnterpriseLink box.  Click on the “OK” button to move onto the next phase of the licensing process:

Enter the information about yourself and a comment as to how the license will be used.  This may be an internal sales order form number or other arbitrary information.  This can be revealed later on by clicking on the “List Customers” link on the left-hand side of the page.  On this page, however, click “OK” to generate the license.

The above page is the license.  You can either “View Source” and save the HTML into a file or, more simply, select the text on this page with your mouse:

Copy and paste this information into an e-mail and send it to the customer:

You have now completed the license generation process.  To review those licenses you have generated, click on “List Customers” on the left-hand side of the Licensing Home Page:

You can click on the “Customer Number” to show the licenses generated for that customer:

If there are any issues with the license generation process please contact any of the people you see on the Authoring, Administering or Partnering sections of the EnterpriseLink Information Site.
